Christian Nationalism: A Rhode Island Response and the Legacy of Roger Williams

Christian Nationalism: A Rhode Island Response and the Legacy of Roger Williams is an online seminar designed to introduce the problem and develop a response situated in the very best of our religious traditions.

We’ll begin with a brief overview of the legacy of the Age of Discovery and the church’s complicity in providing a destructive theological cover for the colonization of the Americas.

Next we’ll turn our attention to a brief exploration of Roger Williams and explore his views on the separation of church and state and how that legacy has been developed in today’s culture.

Finally, we’ll address the rise of Christian Nationalism in Rhode Island and consider potential responses as people of faith.

Zoom link will be sent after the registration process is complete.
