Syria and the Refugee Crisis

Syria and the Refugee Crisis

We write with shared concern for the growing tragedy of Syrian refugees and with concern for the instability of the region.

At Brown on the evening of Wednesday, December 2 at 7 pm in Lower Salomon an important program offers us all a chance to learn more about the Syrian crisis and to reply with generosity to the plight of the refugee.

Please share this invitation with your community?

Together we hope to mobilize support for the White Helmets, a group committed to saving civilian lives in Syria by providing urgent medical care after bombardments, and to launch our advocacy initiative in favor of welcoming Syrian refugees to Providence.

An interfaith coalition comprised of students involved with Brown RISD Hillel, the Brown Students Association, the Brown RISD Catholic Community, the Brown Christian Fellowship and the Brown Baha’ Club have come together to organize this Middle East Studies-sponsored event with the co-sponsorship of the Office of the Chaplains and Religious Life.

If you are not able to attend but wish to make a contribution please contact the Office of the Chaplains at (401)863-2344, or send a contribution made payable to Brown University: Office of the Chaplains and Religious Life with a notation for “White Helmets.” Thank you.
